Conference Planning Profiles
Since July 1995, I've had the honor of performing meeting planning services for some impressive national and international organizations. Even though each event was different, the goal has been the same -- provide fearless attention to detail. Why? Truth be known. most people don't notice when everything goes right. National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation (NOAH) (2000-Present)Service Performed: Non-Profit Conference Planning Budget: $100,000 in 2002, $125,000 in 2004 Attendees: 404 in 2002, 660+ in 2004 from around the world from children to seniors Specific Duties: Provided all aspects of special event planning for a biennial, four-day conference including facility identification and selection, contract negotiation and coordination with sales and banquet staff. Also developed the program including educational sessions, social outings, childcare and registration. Remotely managed volunteers and administrative contractor plus created and managed budgets. National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation (NOAH) (1998)Service Performed: Non-Profit Conference Planning Budget: $85,000 Attendees: 540 attendees (the facility maximum) Specific Duties: Worked with National Conference Chair to plan and execute all local components of this biennial, national conference. Located hotel and worked with banquet staff to plan and execute menus for what was then the event's largest attendance ever. Provided meeting planning services including booking local speakers for programs. Coordinated attendee tours and childcare activities for kids, ages 12 and under.
Jill Whalen's Search Engine Marketing Seminars (2002-Present)Service Performed: Meeting Planning Budget: $15,000-$20,000 Attendees: Between 40-70 Specific Duties: Planned and executed logistical aspects of two-day educational seminars and workshops focused on teaching the basics of search engine marketing. Meeting planning services included securing a site location in the chosen city, meal planning for attendees, audio/visual aspects of presentations, interfacing with attendees in advance of the event as well as on-site coordination were done to ensure success. Speaker travel, lodging and dining arrangements were handled as well. This event started out as a half-day seminar with one speaker.
